QUBATORS HACKATHON 

LEGAL NOTIFICATION


  1. 1.    SPONSOR

Qubators Hackathon 2024 (the Hackathon) is organised and sponsored by Qubators Network (the Sponsor).


  1. 2.    REGISTRATION

By registering to participate in the hackathon, Registrants (Individual or Team) agree to abide by the Sponsor’s rules and regulations guiding all stages of the Hackathon.


  1. 3.    TEAM REPRESENTATIVE

If registering for the Hackathon as a Team, the Team must appoint and authorise one individual (the “Representative”) to represent, act, and enter a submission/s and relate with the Sponsor, on their behalf. By submitting projects on hacksthon.qubators.org on behalf of a Team, you represent and warrant that you are the Representative authorised to act on behalf of your Team.

  1. 4.    OFFICIAL LANGUAGE

All projects and related materials must be in English or, if not in English, Registrants must provide English translation of demonstration video/s, text/s description, and testing instructions as well as all other materials submitted. 

  1. 5.    PROJECTS ORIGINALITY

Projects submitted for the Hackathon must be the original work of the Registrant/s, or improvement on existing state of the art, and be solely owned by the individual or Team Registrant/s, and not violate the intellectual property or other rights of any other person or entity. 


  1. 6.    PROJECTS VIABILITY 

Projects must be capable of successful installation and running consistently on intended platform/s, and must function as depicted in the video and/or expressed in the text description, in compliance with the Hackathon specifications @ hackathon.qubators.org/specifications or as maybe adjudged necessary by the Sponsor and further directed in the course of the Hackathon.


In the case of hardware Projects, Registrants shall submit physical products for evaluation.


  1. 7.    WINNERS SELECTION

Eligible projects will be evaluated and Winners selected by a panel of judges appointed by the Sponsor (the “Judges”). Projects evaluation and Winners Selection may take place in one or more rounds with one or more panels of Judges, at the discretion of the Sponsor.


The decision/s of the Sponsor and/or the Judges are binding and final regarding Projects evaluation and Winners Selection.

 

  1. 8.    REWARDS

Rewards for participation, successful evaluation and winning project selection maybe of any of the following categorisations   

(i) Special Recognition

This applies to projects that successfully pass the evaluation stages, may have been selected amongst   winning projects but the Registrant/s elect to gift the same through the Sponsor for the propagation of the gospel


(ii) Cash Prizes

There are various exciting cash prizes to be won and the Sponsor shall announce the same in due course. 


(iii) Seed Funding

Investment funding to facilitate Project/Product development and upgrade, research commercial engagements, and business growth amongst others with the Sponsor owning equity stake


    (iv) A Hybrid Of Aforementioned Rewards

          A hybrid of any of the above mentioned Rewards


  1. 9.    INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS 


  1. 10.    MODIFICATION AND CANCELLATION

The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Hackathon, or any part thereof, in the event of technical failure, fraud, or any other factor or unanticipated event.  Consequently, the terms and conditions of the Hackathon are subject to change at any time. Provided that the Sponsor posts amended terms and conditions on hackathon.qubators.org and Registrants are duly notified through the same channel of communication utilized prior to and in the course of the Hackathon.


  1. 11.    DISPUTE RESOLUTION

12. All Products Presented must be justifiable of the 60 days allocated to the hackathon.
